Consequently, we investigated the role of noradrenergic input to the orbitofrontal cortex in adjusting the associations between actions and outcomes in male rats. Our identity-based reversal task showed that depleting or chemogenetically silencing noradrenergic projections within the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) hindered rats' ability to associate new outcomes with pre-acquired actions.
